So. I'm leaving. In a week's time. [C'rizz is in his room, and his skin is roughly the colour of the sandstone walls, but the saturation is higher and there are brighter blotches around his eyes, cheeks, and neck. He's quite excited. And nervous. And excited.]

You probably saw Marsh's announcement a bit ago. It was nice of him to make it, as I was mostly still sitting in my room remembering how not to hyperventilate at the time. I didn't expect I would... leave here. Really. Ever.

Marsh is a kind man. I don't know how many people aboard really know him, but he's lovely. He hates being told so and he hates overt gestures of appreciation, which is why I think you should all do something nice for him so that he makes that slightly horrified face and leans back slightly as if he's allergic to reciprocal kindness.

There are... quite a few people here I'll be sorry not to be able to see again. Marsh, you're one of them, I'm going to miss you more than I can say, and yes I'm saying this publically so deal with it. You've been amazing. The rest of you, I hope you know who you are. I'll be dropping by to say goodbye. But I'm glad to be leaving this place.

[He trails off as if he's not sure what else to say, and then ends the video there.]

[OPEN SPAM: ALL WEEK]
[C'rizz's door is open, and he's alternating between packing and just sort of sitting around looking a bit shocked-- yes, still, after a few weeks. He makes excursions out to visit friends and people who have been kind to him, but his door is also entirely open to strangers.

He keeps hoping he'll see Roderick-- but he's fairly sure he'll have to figure out for himself whether or not it's going to hurt him too much to go say goodbye. He wants to. But he doesn't want to hurt Roderick anymore than he's been. ]

Can I. I mean. Could you. Please bring my hand to the infirmary. Please.

I don't even know what to -- are you all right? I'm so sorry.

Infirmary spam CW mentions of amputation )

[Spam for Roderick]
[Later, when he's been given a hand, ahah, and his skin is its various healthy colours again, he makes his way to Roderick's room. His wrist is still bandaged, which is as much for his own peace of mind as anything else, but he's not shocky or sick anymore. He feels... Solid. And rather sad.]

Roderick? Are you in there? We've got to talk.

[Older, human, unfamiliar, a man with tear-streaks on his face and a mad rage in his eyes.]

Who brought me here? What use? I was undone.
What fool thought me a danger still? Oh no-
Oh tribunes, you had no ear for old men.
Phantom, who took me to this cursed place,
Ere you silenced me, Andronicus was mute!
A prisoner needing no new imprisonment.

What further hell? What new insult?
To grind a corpse's face into the dust?

No-- I know.
Tamora is the authoress of this.
She's set a spark to withered flesh- I burn,
Now burn, to remedy my older fault,
That spared the mother when the son was slain!

[C'rizz is Titus Andronicus, an old roman general whose life is so very fucked up right now and about to become moreso. If you google the play beware CW for basically ALL THE THINGS]

[Some of the tree spirits are waking, slowly, now that there is spring and the snow is melting. The woods are alive with whispers, as they once were before.

The half-dead aspen by the long-dry riverbed has woken sluggishly, but completely; he moves about now, a tall, sad-eyed figure with cracked, snow-white skin. His foliage is gone, but he wears a laurel of mistletoe around his head. He speaks to no-one and no-one who knew him in the days before the long winter seems to expect him to.]

Closed message, later )

[Meet Riss, the spirit of a quaking aspen. He's been kind of a debbie downer since his naiad lover died, which was years before the reign of Jadis started. He's mopey but but he's probably not desperate enough about it to make a deal with the devil or anything*.

*He's totally made a deal with the devil.]

[C'rizz is just a little white face peeping out of a white mass of robe and blanket, wrapped around him in layers. It's cold and there's lots of little -- ice crystals maybe and he's borrowing the room of a grown monk and he's surrounded by aliens and it's awful. He's huddled up in the eighth level common room.

To humans he's about the size of a seven-year old and as developmental stages go it's pretty close-- a colour changing serious little seven-year old already accustomed to life in the seminary, but still a child and still far from home.]

[FROM THE REGULAR BARGE]

[The Dalek Emperor sits in a sandstone room, broadcasting the same message, over and over. Nobody aboard his/their barge knows what he looks like-- a sallow white reptilian male-ish thing, repeating, patiently:]

The individual currently inhabiting our casing is an imposter, and should be isolated and restrained. We are the Dalek Emperor.

[But a broadcast from the Mirror Barge cuts in-]

[From the MIRROR BARGE]

[The feed shows the Emperor's casing, but unusually, the top is open; it's empty. Lounging against to it, skin black and gold to complement the colour of the casing itself, is C'rizz-- identifiably the same species, and in fact, same person as the Emperor. His voice is a bored sing-song, all upper-class psychopath.]

Yes, do try to restrain me. Why, all I have to defend myself is... mm, six inches of Dalekanium sheeting, electromagnetic grips that can rip doors off their hinges, energy weapons that can vaporize nearly any organic being, and if I can get into these locked cabinets, biological weapons. ...your Imperial friend has mentioned that Daleks precede their invasions with a plague, hasn't he-? He hasn't-? How rude of him.

Now where was I. Ah, yes. You could try to restrain me.

Alternately, you could... not try to restrain me. We've all done so well this past month, haven't we? I've only had to murder one person, and we can agree that he had it coming. Why don't we keep up this pleasant streak?

I've been asleep for-- quite a while, haven't I?

[Public video]

I wanted to ask people about faith. I wanted to talk about the church I was raised in.

But this is more important.

Marsh is in a coma. I've put him back in his room and nobody's to pester him, all right? None of this drawing stuff I've heard about.

If you still want to talk about your gods, that's fine as well.
to_dust: (BFA: Crizz what is that face)
[PUBLIC VIDEO]
[The video opens up with C'rizz grinning, something that maybe two people have seen on the barge before now-- an easy grin, not a rictus, but his golden eyes are manic. And his skin is crawling with colours, patches brightening and receding slowly without any relation to the bright colours around him-- jarring and eyewatering and garish.]

You know, the barge would be-- stop me if I'm wrong, the barge would be a much nicer place if people would lighten up? 'Oh, goodness me, I'm a big tough territorial sort and I'm going to have to kill someone before I can admit I'm stuck here.' 'Ohh all I know how to do is murder people so I'll just stick a knife in people.'

That's why you're all so angry, because someone is actually having fun. Look inside. Deeper. Behind the ribs. Keep digging. Can't you see it's just a little funny? Just a bit?

[He starts to laugh-- not a scream but a hysterical guffaw from deep in his chest, and the video cuts out to-]

[Filtered away from Jack/Joker and Mason]

I'm-- hahahaha, I'm compromised pretty badly, woo. [He wipes his eyes, still grinning.] But not as badly as he thinks I am.

Ahahahaha... no, no, but seriously we need to get Jack back. These drugs aren't going to kill me as fast as they kill humans, I can... hehe. Help.

[He looks down at his arm, spots of neon blue appearing and pulsing.]

Oooh, that's not normal. Nerve damage, do you think? [He wiggles his fingers; that sends him off on another laughing jag, and he cuts the feed.]

[OPEN SPAM]
[It isn't just the Smilex in his system. He can feel the shape of the Joker's mind. He's... mirroring it. More than he wants to. But he has it under control.

...mostly.

But it's funny, it's so hilariously funny, the look of fear as something lurches out of the dark at someone and they see their mortality; nobody expects that. And so he's lurking around the barge, more or less impossible to see when there's a joke in the offing, because his altered mind will blend, then-- he'll shove someone in front of a bumper car before he'll whisk them back to safety, because haha, you thought you were going to die and you didn't!

He gets it. He gets the joke. And what's life without a laugh? Fortunate that there's another part of his mind that says 'life is important'. And he's gripping that like a safety line.]

[C'rizz does have his pack with him when it goes dark and impactful, but he doesn't know how to use most of what's in it. He has some water, some food, but limited medical supplies and no torch.

So when he comes to, he has to navigate by hearing and touch. It's very good hearing, but he wishes he had light; a packet of everlasting matches, even, would go down well. Because he can hear things, far away, in the dark.]

[C'rizz has emerged from his room again, shaken, but he needs to start eating regularly again. So find him in the dining hall. If you have a good eye. Strictest attention must be paid to the Admiral's announcement of pairings. The inmate designated as Marsh is now a subject of the Daleks. He will not be controlled without the permission of the Daleks. He will not be injured without the permission of the Daleks. Do not intrude. You will be exterminated.

[The feed switches on and shows ....mostly a sandstone wall.

But when part of the wall blinks, yellow eyes vanishing and reappearing, it becomes easier to make out the outline, the face-and-neck shaped places where the colors are blurred and blobby, more a suggestion of sandstone than the crisp striations around it. And there are features-- a human enough face, a young man's face-- a bald, ridged scalp, rather scaley looking plates under the jaw.

And when the figure speaks, even in a whisper his voice clangs of some finishing school in the home counties.]

Charley-? Charlotte, are you there?

Am I not dead?
